I'm So Very Behind

I really don't know where the time goes, but it does. I've done lots. Really.

I've also received lovely gifts. These gifts came last week and I have yet to say thank you to the givers.
So to these two wonderful women I hope the adage better late than never stands.....

Dee made this mini as a part of pay it forward. I. Love. It! Thanks Dee, it brightened my day!

My Sister sent these slippers. She knitted and felted them. I cannot express how comfy they are.

I've hardly taken them off since they got here.

THANKS SO VERY MUCH!

A quilt block

We have started our block of the month at the shop. I was able to finish my middle block last week. The quilt was designed just for us by Aby Dolinger. She and another amazing person Tina Reed have hugely helped me make this possible. I am really looking forward to seeing everyone's completed tops. Five months to go....

New Apron

We just received patterns from Heather Bailey at the shop. I decided to try the apron. It's a simple pattern and I like the way it turned out. I love aprons, I don't like ruining my clothes at work, I really need to remember to put mine on before going out on the floor...
~
If you've sewn with a few patterns, you shouldn't find this too difficult. The bodice is probably the trickiest spot. I made this with black kona cotton. Just a bit of useless fun. This is a mini scrap quilt. The squares are only 3 inches. Well sort of. I started it last night because I just needed to sew something and was too tired to really try.
More later.

I'm baaack....

So, for the record, just because I haven't posted anything doesn't mean I haven't been creative. I took pictures of the mini quilt I made last Thursday. I had something very funny and clever to say about taking the Jenny P. challenge and making a mini quilt in one night....... I did it, I didn't post it and I can't remember what I was going to say. I assure you, it was funny and clever. I hear she has made two more...... evil, creative woman. I also finished some other UFOs, none post worthy. Last night though, I finished THE DRESS. I think it was worth the wait. The final steps included hand hemming yards of bias skirt and making miles of bias tape for the trim. When I tried it on for my DB he was impressed. He had seen it at not so impressive stages and even dared to laugh once.... mooooo. Now, tell me what you think. The close up is of my Mema's very vintage buttons my Sis gave me.
