Thanks Jennifer for braving the snow with me.

The pattern is easily put together and very comfortable to wear.

Amigurumi......a labor of love.

Note to self: Do not start another teeny animal right after a long day at work. Oh, and find out HOW to pronounce that word.

See, his head ended up a bit small.... tension... it gets you every time.

A sample for the shop. Made from "Cutest Little Animals" using Vanna's Choice yarn in silver grey and taupe.

Uptown Coats, Again....

Warning: These pictures do not do these coats justice. It's not You Know Who's fault, it's just too dark to go outside. You've also seen these coats here several times before. Look anyway.

My mom and Aunt requested these after seeing the one I sent to my sisterMom, Rhonda, if you  don't like them let me know and I'll keep them. Just sayin.

For my mom. Dark brown corduroy and Imperial Fusions both by Kaufman fabrics. I was searching for just the right lining when Kelly suggested this. It's perfect.

For my Aunt. Black Kaufman corduroy with a lining from "au-then-tic" by Sweetwater for Moda. I covered the buttons in corduroy. I love this even if I do say so myself.

This coat is just too cute.
Yummy vintage buttons for my mom's coat.

Thanks for stopping by. Off to my next project.

Who Me?

The Lemonade Stand Award

This award is given out for bloggers that show great attitude and gratitude. I am not sure where or when this started (I've kinda been out of it for the last week) but I had a message from Dee that said she'd awarded it to me and 9 other blogging friends. If you've never read her blog, you should. She is funny, kind and loves her life.

These are the rules of accepting the award.

Put the Lemonade logo on your blog or within your post.
Nominate at least 10 blogs with great attitude or gratitude.
Link the nominees within your post.
Let the nominees know they have received this award by commenting on their blog.
Share the love and link to the person from whom you received this award.

Now before I make my list I just want you all to know that you are under no obligation to continue this! I will not think you ungrateful if you don't! Blogging can be a hard and time consuming endeavor and I don't want to make it harder on you. Some of you know me and some of you don't. I realize I read each of you not just for the projects you complete but for the happiness that comes across in your writing.

It is an interesting way to say thanks. So, thanks! Thank you all for taking the time to put yourselves out there and inspire me. You do, even if I  haven't taken the time to say so before.

Quick Goodbye Before I Go

This morning You know who, The Oldest, Brink, and I head out for our annual ski holiday in Austria. We will meet a good friend there. Dear Jess and Uber, we'll miss you very much. We have been very fortunate to have made this trip for more years than you want to hear about. It is one of my most favorite places on this amazing earth. Ask anyone who knows me, I tend to go on about it. I only do so because I really wish you could go with me. Ya'll say a prayer that I don't break myself.
The view from my kitchen. We had a foot of snow last night.

Just to hold you over, these last two photos are sneak peaks of my next projects.

See ya later.

The Color of Happiness

My niece asked for an apron.  What color? She wrote, "I was thinking a bright and sunshine yellow. It just reminds me of happiness!" This didn't surprise me because sunshine and happiness are two words that come to mind when I think of her. Though most days I still think of her as the little Tidbit she was, she is now a grown woman. A young woman that I don't know half as well as I'd like but that I love tons. I knew just the fabric I would use. Hope you like it Jelly Bean.

Kelly and I had a lot of fun out in the snow. You can't  really see how hard it's coming down unless you expand it.....
The fabric is Kona cotton and Sunshine by April Cornell for Moda.

Five more gnome key fobs. It was a mob scene when I took them out at work. Those girls are scary.

Anyone, gnome?

I endeavored to clean my disaster area creative space up a bit yesterday. I came across the makings for this, so I did.
Now if I can only remember who wanted him.........

Think cozy

A snuggley cuddle and flannel blanket.

My first knit anything in well over 20 or so much more so many years ago. I ran out of yarn, can't get more, I'm over it.
Just before You Know Who took these for me I was having a playful moment with Brink. Then he got crazy and messed up my hair. So I chewed him out.
Someone thought that was funny.

Sisterly gifts

My sister, my BFF, keeps threatening not to make me anymore knitted things. For some reason she thinks I might be sick of the lovelies she sends. Why oh why oh why could she ever think that? I cannot tell you how soft these are but I might let you touch them. The stitch is awesome.
Please excuse my worn out hands and equally worn out table

She also made me this jewelry bag. How cute, how practical. I wish I'd had it for my last trip!

I tried to finish up some projects of my own over the last few days and nothing is going quite right. What to do? Start another of course! I came across this free pattern  by Elizabeth Hartman for Sew Mama Sew. If you haven't checked out the website, you must be living in the dark ages. Just sayin.

It takes two fat quaters, heavy interfacing, fusible interfacing, thread and a purse snap. I spent about two and a half hours start to finish. The only modification I made was a longer strap. I used some Bleeker Street and Kaufman Chambray I had in my stash. Great gifts? I think so!
