Something new

I finally finished it! Yet another project that I had started over a month ago. New patterns come in, new fabric comes in and I just can't help myself, I have to get it. When I finally finish, they are old patterns and old fabrics....... ha ha. Anyway, not too behind on this one. The pattern is from here. The fabric is Daydreams by Deb Strain. We still have some in the shop, I didn't buy it all....

Silly things......

What's this, you're asking? It's my dog, in the snow. Pretty much all the way in the snow. This is one of his favorite things to do. He looks like he's trying to imitate a dolphin but I don't think he's ever seen a dolphin. So he must just be being himself. It's funny. He also loves to run toward you and slide between your legs. This year he and I ended up in a pile cause he miscalculated. Amazingly, that was funny too.......

Distracted by a sunny day.....

It was one of those gorgeous days. The kind where you either want to curl up in the sun and sleep like a cat or go wandering...... I was able to do a bit of both and still managed to be a bit constructive. My Dearly Beloved and I headed out to the Schwabenbrau, one of our favorite places for a sunny day. People watching there is just fun. The pictures are from an area we drive through. No, they don't do it justice. As for the constructive part of my day........ Hey Mom, here's your bag. Now, if I can just get it in the mail.......

Jessica is on Etsy!

Yes, my really lovely, talented, sweet baby girl now has a shop on Etsy. You can see her under my favorites. So far she makes the growth charts I wrote about earlier. Who knows what will come next. She has a clever mind. Gets that from her dad.... Good news is she is nice too! Gets that from me..... ha ha No really, she is one of my most favorite people in the world and she has a great husband. Good taste also runs in the family...
Go, check out her shop, do it NOW!

Emmeline Apron

This is the Emmeline apron from here. I have had the pattern and fabric for a month or so. Just couldn't get it done. I came home last night with not a lot of energy but my DB was studying so it seemed as good a time as any to start. I finished at oh blah hour and I like it! You can't tell from the picture but it is reversible.

Hours and hours

I need to stop trying to keep track of the hours I have spent sewing these blocks. The good news is, when you finally get a few finished, you really start to see just how spectacular this quilt will be when I get it done, in ten years...... Here is a picture so you can try and see it too. Eight new blocks were born last night. I felt good about that....

Mushrooms on my mind

This is just crazy. I don't even have a great affinity for mushrooms. Well, I like to eat them and I have taken photos of them. Maybe I do love mushrooms cause now that I have started, I can't stop making them. The first one is so sad compared to these. (You can trade it in Jennifer.) As you can see I have even made a pointy one, kinda reminds me of a certain hat..... They are actually keeping me sane because the Cathedral Garden quilt is driving me mad! I cannot even tell you how many hours I have spent trying to finish the green section.

I also made a blanket out of our new minky! I love it but I am afraid I won't be able to keep it. Black fabric and Miss Evie just don't mix. For a moment I thought about giving her away instead but that seems so drastic.
For now it will be on display in the shop. That's all for this weekend!

Something I did instead of doing other things

Jennifer gave me this pattern Tuesday and said, "I want this". Being the good friend I am, I put it off for a day. Then when there were hundreds of other things I should have been doing, I made it. Nothing like procrastination through creativity. I mean, I wasn't just sitting, I made a mushroom!! I used yarn I had and mine seems much larger than the example... oh well, it was fun. Hope she likes it. Wonder how many more she may want....

I warned you!

I did! I admitted right up front that I was going to be terrible at this...... It's not that I haven't been creative, I have. I just haven't written about it. My mom arrived two weeks ago and we are still catching up on the everyday type stuff. This is harder to do since I am working. Good news is, she likes to come to work with me. She loves the people I work with and whenever I give her the chance she tries a new project. Pottery painting has been big this time. We took Kelly's class on Majolica style painting, lots of fun! We also did the ladies night out. What a hoot that was. She is still wondering what to do with a small ceramic bustier and shoe..... Today she tried out lamp working with Katelyn. She made two beads. I was impressed! They were good. My first was a bit lumpy..... Katelyn is a great teacher, very patient with good information. I finished a hat for Emily (one of my favorite small friends) you can she it here on her mom's blog. I have made more tiny flowers, Kelly and I sold some, you can see them on this site. I have made some dresses too. I used some of my favorite fabrics at the shop. I will try to post pictures one day...... really.... I mean it.
