Flannel Shirts

I made these for my youngest at his request. I have one more left to make. I used to make You Know Who's shirts all the time and forgot that it is something I enjoy. I had to trudge through a foot of snow to the park next to our apartment building searching for an open enough area with some light.... we've had a bit of snow the last few days.
Hope he likes them.

The Purple Heart

Is presented for:

"Being wounded or killed in any action against an enemy of the United States or as a result of an act of any such enemy or opposing armed forces"

Some of you know our son was injured just before his last tour ended. We were honored to be with him this morning when he received his Purple Heart. It was a solemn occasion, thinking of those who gave their lives and what could have been. It was a happy occasion because he was there. We were able to see him receive this medal. We could hug him, laugh with him and just feel glad.

It's been a hard week, for others....

I am unable to be with them physically but I can pray, sometimes it's all you can do.

My sister, well, to make a long story short and not invade her privacy too much..... If you are ever in Salem OR and need a dentist, ask me where not to go. Unless you like loosing teeth. I'm just saying.

My son, he is fine, but there are those who are not. Thus far his unit was fairly fortunate, no major stuff gone wrong. This week two people and their families lives are forever changed. My son is ok and I am overjoyed, someone else's son is not and my heart breaks for them.
