I had to get this out of my head....

I was cutting some fabric Wednesday and this quilt popped into my head. I was hoping to have it completed but didn't have anything for backing
and I just couldn't wait to show you.
I used Fresh Paint by Marcus Fabrics and Kona solids. The white fabric is some from my stash.

What do you think?

School Days Jacket ~ Featuring Emily

I love this girl! When Jennifer stopped by the shop today, she took these for me.  Now I know I love this coat. It's hard to see sometimes if you don't have a little one around to torture dress up. Thanks Jennifer! Thanks Miss Em!

Yes, another wonderful pattern from Oliver and S. Hanging up in our shop hoping to inspire people to sew something.
I used a brown twill for the outer fabric and Fresh Paint by Marcus Fabrics for the lining. Since I make these things to try and show how cute they are, and then tuck them away for non existent future grandkids, I have no one to model them. Maybe Jennifer will take pity on me and let me borrow one of her gorgeous girls?

More old vintage buttons.

When I got home late last night, this is what I saw. See, we bought a new/old desk for you know who. He's never really liked the table I made him set his office stuff on, expressed a desire for a new desk and just a few days later we found this.

So, apparently, this is what you do when you get a peice of furniture and find out that is doesn't fit through any other door in your house except the front door. You put it in the middle of the living room and make a cubby for your sick cat (no, she still won't eat unless I make her) on the trolley. It's pretty hilarious what this cat will let him do. She sat there while he rolled her around.

Welcome to my world.

Sunday Travel Log and Cute Overload.......

Or, there's something for everyone in this post, so keep reading, or if you don't like reading just look at the pictures.

~

Esslingen Burg.

You know who got me up and out of the house on Sunday afternoon. We went for a drive around Stuttgart, stopping in at a couple of favorite towns. Esslingen was first, if you haven't been, at least go during the Weinacht's Market. Their Medieval section is fantastic. Rathaus.

Love the painting.

I want this door knob.

Our second stop was Waiblingen. This door was small. Smaller than me.

The wall around the city, I wonder how it's still standing.

Market house where we happened onto a car rally. We should have just drove our 450 on up into the square.

The only thing we were missing was one of these yellow tags.

While you know who contemplated the possibility of showing our car at one of these rallys, I took the opportunity to do this.

Reflections can be fun.

My first car was a Plymouth Belvedere. This was not it. I kinda wish it had been. Sorry Mom, just sayin.

This was more like what my car looked like. Mine was blue. The lacquer flaked off the top when I drove anywhere. People called it the dandruff car. I was lucky to have that car. Have you gone to the Mercedes Museum?

Now for cute.
~
I started this bag Friday night. It's the Frenchy Bag by Amy Butler. I used Natural Effects by Michelle D'Amore for Marcus fabrics. We just got this line in the shop and I love it.

I decided to add a small bag and key fob. You can hook the key fob onto the bag and make it a wristlet. There's also a ring inside to latch it onto so you don't lose your keys at the bottom. I had enough fabric left over to make the handbag version. Including all the same accoutrements.

The stiped fabric is fun.
Thanks for stopping by.

Not what I am supposed to be doing, ammended

Jennifer let me borrow Miss Ava for a moment. Couldn't ask for a more gorgeous model. It's so much better on a munchkin than hanging on a line, that's for sure!

Tuesday Jennifer, Tina and I were in the shop admiring Jennifer's back pack and our newest line "Close to my heart" by Faye Burgos for Marcus Fabrics. We were drooling over both and wondering if she should make back pack with this line. I was thinking of the Oliver + S patterns because I often do, I like them so much..... Anyway, Jennifer and I decided to get the same two fabrics, I would make the birthday dress and she would make the 2 + 2 blouse. You may have noticed I am on this getting my projects done kick. So of course instead of continuing on with that noble scheme, I go ahead with this new plan. Try as I might, (and cause Jennifer dared me) I couldn't get this done yesterday. Buttonholes at 1am are not a good idea and last night I listened....
Yet again, I love these patterns. Love the way it turned out.
