Evening Walk

So it's been cold here this May. I mean COLD. Rainy, dark and cold. I can't even stand to sit in our office at work because I start to freeze. My desk quilt is not warm enough even with my sweater coat and boots. Did I mention it's cold?
The worst part is I avoid the out of doors. It is easy to forget it is spring and kinda gorgeous out there even with our less than desirable weather. I had to walk to the store last night to get milk and decided to take my camera. It's been weeks since I walked with my camera.

None of these are great photos. That's not why I'm sharing them. It was raining. 7:30 in the evening with my 50mm lens. I also had my full shopping bag. Steady I was not. These are straight out of the camera except for a couple that I cropped.

The point is, I got up off my popo, walked, carried groceries, took the long way home in the rain and cold, and managed to enjoy myself. Then there where the colors. Oh my! The colors were gorgeous!

And that is what I wanted to share.

Have a geat weekend.
Oh FYI the Sindelfingen handwerk market is today and tomorrow. I don't think they cancel because of weather.....

Just a few more.........

The trails are well marked, getting lost is not an option.
We walked the entire length of this scenery..... then up and over the ridge.

Walking across these huge patches of ice was interesting and a bit scary for me.
Brinkley loved it except for the time he started slipping all the way down. Thank goodness it wasn't one of the long patches.......
Brinkely and my DB in the botton right corner.
Happy dog!

A Long Summer Walk

This butterfly/moth? was just a bit bigger than my finger tip.
Me at the Stuttgarter Hutte after an aerobically challenging walk...
Mad cow? Who knows what cows think. This one was making me nervous following Brinkley.

I went on a little walk this weekend. You know who and I took a friend and Brinkley to one of our favorite places. I cannot tell you just how beautiful it was. The pictures just don't do it justice but I am posting them anyway. It wasn't a hard walk. It was a long walk. The first day was a total of 7 1/2 hours, 6 of that walking time. I did stop to take the pictures, who wouldn't?? Can you see the boots on Brinkley? His poor paws just don't do well for long rocky walks. He REALLY loves these boots. I must admit to being a bit sore. Ok, a lot sore. It was worth it.......

1 Tandem + 1 Flat Tire = A Long Walk Home

So you may have seen us out there this evening. I finally consented to a bike ride, on the tandem no less. The scenery was gorgeous. We waited until evening when the temperatures were lower. It started off a bit sketchy, I am not a good bike rider, but that wasn't the problem. There was a guy, driving a car, he was stupid. I mean WHO passes a car when they are turning right at an intersection, on a narrow two way street? My Dearly Beloved is a great bike rider and I refrained from screaming and flailing so all is well..... until the hill and the gears going wonky. I must say again, because of the DB, I did not hit the ground very hard.... and off we went again. I was doing a lot of thinking as we went along. Things like, OK, this is not so bad, I can DO this, WHY do I wait so long to do this, look at the pretty ferns, uh oh here comes another hill, I hate hills, I am over this, if he says one more time this is the hardest part I may have to kill him, (mind you all of these thoughts were over about an hours time). My last really big thought was, oh my, I REALLY don't want to be riding this bike anymore..... and that last thought is what did us in, seriously, be careful what you wish for. I heard the pop, but he didn't say anything so I thought, whatever...... I then started telling him (loudly) I really need to stop and get something to drink. His reply was, we are ONLY ten minutes from home! I grumbled a bit but kept pedaling because I am a trooper. I was not paying attention, so missed what the DB said at first, I was hoping it was something like, Hey! let's stop for something to drink after all because you have done a really great job and I know you're really thirsty and the water bottle is almost empty. Actually, what he said was, I think we have a flat. At that moment, I knew I had gotten what I wished for and it was not actually what I wanted. Now, what you must understand is, he was trying to encourage me when he said we were only ten minutes from home. We were more like twenty minutes from home. This turned into a forty minute walk with the DB pushing the tandem. I was carrying the helmets and let me tell you they were heavy. The good news is, it was a beautiful evening for a walk and there is no one on earth I would have rather been with...

Morning walk

Things have been so busy the last couple of weeks. I decided to take Brinkley on a leisurely walk the other morning. It was just too beautiful. Here are some of my favorite things I saw. There is a caterpillar in there that I didn't notice until I got home..
I know they are weeds, but they just look like sunshine....
The most gorgeous dog ever! For some reason though, he did NOT want his picture taken.

Things Brinkley saw on our walk.....
What's not to like about these colors?
