Button, Button

Anyone else out there button crazy like me? When I found them I tried to act casual. I started poking them with my finger, looking through them which must have made the man selling think I wanted only a couple?? He broke it to me that they were sold by the jar full… Hmmmmm, well, ok, if you insist…..

I'll take both!

Sorting them is the hard part. Maybe they'll just have to sit on the shelf in their cute jars instead.

My other half likes to see what I make but he can't get excited like I can about fabric and ribbons and buttons...I apparently had a very lengthy conversation with him about buttons. At the end of which he said - "Well there's 10 minutes of my life I'll never get back". Now if either one of us starts going on and on about something we say "Shall we talk about buttons now?" ;-)

If you go to Holzgerlingen, there's a fabric store called Esro Jersey. They have a box (more a large bucket) of buttons. 2 Euro per teacup. You can even pick them out one at a time if you prefer.

Oh Corinnea, I do understand that very very well ... I once bought a whole box of stuff at a flea market, and I was in HEAVEN ... buttons, threads ... Have fun with your buttons!

Definitely button crazy. I had the idea to make button necklaces a while ago after my grandma let me have her old stash and had a blast bidding on some more buttons on ebay!

Another button (and fabric!) addict here! Just found your blog and you made me laugh so hard with your first question. Oh, yes, I too have several jars full of magnificent old buttons witch I don't know yet how to use - but it doesn't really matter, does it?
